Well, that’s not quite what he said, but what are we to make of his statement regarding the rioting in Gaza over freakin’ cartoons (for initial coverage of the cartoons, go here):
[he] condemned the caricatures, saying they “provoke all Muslims everywhere in the world.” He asked gunmen not to attack foreigners, “but we warn that emotions may flare in this very sensitive issues.”
Sure I could ask the GUNMEN not to attack innocent people whose only fault is they happen to have the same nationality as a the guy who made these comics, but you see, we have these pesky things called emotions, and these “emotions” may flare, and when they flare we cannot control ourselves and are forced to do things like make death threats and threaten kidnappings. Hey don’t get mad at me – it’s in the Koran!!
By all means, let’s give these people a state. Sheesh.
